We are pleased to share with you the recent prototype construction for the Harburo Table, a solid wood coffee table shown constructed in walnut. This piece marks the first selection of our firm’s object design that we will be rolling out both as an item for sale and a build-at-home set of instructional pdfs for the hobbyist woodworkers out there.

As designers, we’re constantly thinking of how things are constructed; and conversely, how can we make these connections a cohesive part of the overall design sense. We are often drawn to design where joinery is visibly expressed and even emphasized, rather than hidden.

With these concepts in mind, the Harburo Table was driven by this idea of connectivity; conceived as a sturdy, structural expression of furniture, its exaggerated overlapping structural pieces play off a grounded, solid drum. At Pseudonym Studio we believe the sweet spot of truly successful design is when functional elements are incorporated and expressed in concert with any “ornamental” design decisions made. This out-front, honest aesthetic is how we like it.

As always, please subscribe to our newsletter or follow our blog to keep an eye out for the latest updates. We hope to have the Harburo Table available for pre-order or build-at-home guide soon.
